Driveway faqs

Driveway applications require a more solid base for pavers to set on and cars/trucks to park on. Allowing a base of compacted crushed gravel from 5-6 inches ensures a solid base. Pavers are set on crushed gravel and Polymeric locking sand it swept into every joint, pavers are then compacted with a specific paver compactor to ensure all sand has been finely packed into joints. Once joints are filled and cleaned water is applied and left to set for 24hrs to cure. Within the 24 hours pavers a safe to walk on and 48 hours later pavers are safe to park on.

Walkways & Patios

Installation for non-weight bearing applications require a different approach. These project specs require a base of 3-4 inches of compacted gravel. Keeping in mind an ample amount of pitch ranging from 1 inch for every 8-10 feet ensures proper water runoff. Once pavers are set a curb is installed to retain pavers making sure shifting does not occur locking them in place. This curb can be either concrete or a decorative stone garden curb. Final stages of install are polymeric sand swept in each joint and pavers to get a final compaction and water. A final compaction makes each paver sit flat on gravel and a smooth surface with no lips or uneven surfaces.
